Great sound, good price and easy set up.

When I recently bought a new Sony 40″ LCD TV I discovered the TV speakers were better than my old cheapie surround sound system. I then bought this Sony HTSS360. I’m a long way from an audio expert but I know good sound when I hear it and this system has it all the way from the high to the low pitched sounds. I can now hear even faint sounds/sound effects I never knew existed with my old sound system. Between the new TV and this surround sound system all my existing DVD’s are like watching all new movies. It may be a little on the subjective side but my movies appear to have better color and clarity than when the feed was direct from my DVD player. Very easy to set up and play using one remote with the Bravia Sync. In my case just two HDMI cables, sat box and DVD player, to the receiver and one HDMI out to the TV, easy.

Great for the price

Overall, this is a great system. The sound isn’t five-star amazing, but you can’t expect that at this price, and it’s certainly satisfactory as an entry-level setup. As other posters have said, the speaker cords are a little short — we ended up splicing some 18 gauge speaker wire from Radio Shack on them to make them work, so plan accordingly if you have a medium-sized or large room. It’s also one of the few at this price point that has both HDMI in- and outputs, so if you’re using HDMI, consider this system.

Awesome Blu-ray Player

I just bought this player as an upgrade to my older Samsung BD-P1000 and I must say I am extremely pleased with this player. It was very easy to set up and to operate. I have it connected to my Onkyo TX-SR705 with 7.1 speaker set-up which makes use of the lossless sound decoders. Hearing a movie in DTS- HD Master Audio has been a real experience especially on 7.1 soundtracks. My only complaint (which is minor) is that you have to manually operate the tray open and close from the player itself. This is another great Blu-ray player from Sony. I recommend you buy this player.

INCREDIBLE DEAL

I bought this player primarily for the upconversion ability of standard DVD movies. My Sony TV claims it upconverts incoming signals, but I was unhappy with the quality. However with this BD player hooked up wiht HDMI, there is a noticeable improvement in all the of the standard discs I’ve tried. Obviously Blu Ray discs look great as well. This is not a premium player, but for the price, you get exactly what is advertised. I was surprised by the great picture quality.

I like it!

The only thing that I miss is that the eject and control switches do not have the background blue light. Otherwise, the picture and sound are wonderful! Everyone talks about the picture, but I now hear things that were not apparent before. I have it hooked to the 61″ Samsung LED rear projection set and all is good. It even has this neat feature that if I have the TV set to the dish, and I put a DVD in, it switches the TV by itself! Also I’d like to say something about Amazon.com, these people are great. The first unit I bought didn’t work well. Amazon sent me a return lable, and a new unit within a week! Plus they are worth their weight in gold just for posting reviews from regular guys like me. I may or may not trust the guy in the store, but when I have a forum like this to read, it allows me make better choices.

Great First Blu Ray Player

The Samsung BD-P1500 is a great first blu ray player. I have the player connected via optical to my Denon receiver and via HDMI to my Pioneer PDP-5080HD and it looks and sounds fantastic. I also have a Toshiba HD-A3 and the PQ is very comparable. I do like that I can output a 1080p 24hz signal to my display which is a plus over my A3. I have had zero issues with BD playback. It works flawlessly. My only complaint, and it’s minor, is that there is no fan in the player. Instead of a fan it uses the metal bottom as a heat sink and it can get very hot. I wouldn’t recommend keeping the player in a closed cabinet because it can get very hot after extended use. Overall, this is a great player and a bargain at the current price.

Great TV, Great Delivery from Amazon

This TV has a great picture at the right price. I couldn’t be happier with the quality of the tv and with the speed of the delivery from CEVA. I paid $1199 for this tv and Amazon then lowered the price to $1099 15 days after I purchased it so unfortunately, the price difference could not be refunded. The HD picture from my satellite dish looks absolutely stunning. I recently moved to Canada for a 2-3 year work assignment and since TVs are more expensive up north, I purchased this tv from Amazon so it could be shipped by my moving company. Obviously a concern for me was the speed of delivery since the time between my order and when the movers were coming was around 13 days. I received the tv in less than a week from CEVA and it arrived in perfect condition. The tv also survived the 3000 mile trip to St.

Superb picture!

This TV doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of some of the more expensive sets, but the picture is absolutely stunning! Excellent with cable HD and DVDs. I haven’t listened to the speakers, since I have a home theater sound system. Delivery was a bit of a hassle, since the first one I got had a big dent in it, so I refused delivery. But another one arrived in less than a week in great condition.

Excellent TV/Excellent value

Have had this TV for almost 2 months. Shipped promptly from Amazon – best price on the web. Excellent picture, color, clarity and no motion blur! I’m somewhat of a “techie” and did a significant amount of research on TV’s – LCD vs. Plasma. Bottom line: Plasma has better blacks, better off angle viewing, less motion blur for fast moving scenes and far better value than LCD. I was convinced LCD was better until I did the research, did some comparison viewing, and looked at the costs. I’ve also been a SONY fan for many years (CRT’s, walkmans, headphones, CD players, etc) but am very impressed with Panasonic’s product here. Easy to use, great picture, and THX mode makes movies and TV shows look like they should, not like a computer monitor….highly recommend this set and Amazon.

Everything I wanted and more

I ordered this TV for my new townhouse to be mounted over my living room fireplace. Due to the size of the cutout, I couldn’t go any bigger than 42″. Needless to say this TV does not disappoint! I have a 50″ Samsung 1080p LCD in the basement that I paid almost twice as much for, and this TV blows it away. The quality of the picture and the black levels are unbelieveable. There is a little bit of a green hue to the factory settings, but are easily adjusted. The THX picture setting is amazing, but I only recommend it for dimly lit to dark rooms. The other settings for lighter rooms will still wow you. The PS3 games and Blu-ray movies are jaw dropping. I easily recommend this TV, and the price right now (under $1100) can’t be beat!!

Excellent!

These cables worked great for me…I’m getting 1080p@24hz no problem. My setup is a Samsung 52″ LCD TV (LN52A650) and a Playstation 3. Save yourself a whole lot of money and don’t get ripped off buying “Monster” or any other overpriced HDMI cable. Order processing, USPS shipping, and receipt in Texas was lightling fast(7 days). Order 2 while you’re at it…someday you’ll need another one!

Great product!

I recently purchased 2 of these cables and they exceeded my expectations. I ordered them because they are 1.3b Cat2 rated, which basically means they can more than handle a full HD 1080p signal and are actually rated to handle even larger resolutions not available in residential equipment (no need to worry about 1080i vs. 1080p issues some people complain about with super-cheap cables). That and the fact that they were $5. They shipped very quickly, even with standard shipping, and when they arrived I was VERY impressed with the quality of their physical construction. They are well constructed, appear very durable, and will perform side-by-side with any other cable out there 20x the price+. I am confident these are the last cables I will ever need to purchase for my existing equipment and would definitely buy them again for any additional future equipment needs.
