Much better than a shovel My wife bought the floor model when our local hardware store ran out of regular snow shovels. We had gotten by with just one shovel during the past two winters in Virginia, but the freak mid Atlantic Winter storms of 2010 caused us to increase our snow removing capacity. Read the reviews of Snow Joe’s limitations and from prior experience decided to remove snow as it accumulated in four inch levels. The snow was very wet and heavy at the beginning of the blizzard and Snow Joe worked like a charm. Much quicker and without the arm and back fatigue that regular shoveling caused. We ended up using for four out of the five snow removing iterations, only because our neighborhood lost electricity 24 hours into the storm. The final snow was a light powder that was quickly removed by shovels with our still fresh arms (we later found an additional shovel). Our driveway is 75 feet long and we easily removed 16 inches of snow with Snow Joe. A gasoline powered snow blower would have been a better tool, but Snow Joe worked much better than a regular shovel. We had not gotten a snow deeper than four inched during our prior two winters in Virginia, so considering price and frequency Snow Joe works just right for us.

Snow Joe 322P I live in Kentucky where the snowfalls are too inconsistent to justify a snowblower. But there are times it looks like Canada around here, so I was looking for something easier to use than my snow shovel. I did a little research and found the Toro Power shovel and the Snow Joe 322P. After reading many reviews on both, I decided to take a chance on the cheaper Snow Joe. To say it as succinctly as possible, the Snow Joe 322P works. Avoid rocks, mulch beds and broken up ice and this things chews through snow like the Tasmanian Devil. It does take a little while to adjust to the direction it throws the snow (straight ahead) but you soon learn to take short strokes and work your way across the area you are clearing, like a driveway. I do get a kick out of seeing neighbors stopping their cars in the street to see what I am using to clear my drive, sidewalk and porch. Assembly is a piece of cake, and cord management quickly becomes second nature. I give it 4 stars because the hard plastic of the blades still concern me, but after about 6 uses, it works like a charm. A word of advice, do go ahead and get an extension cord made for use in low temperatures, because cord management is easier as a result.
