Snow Joe Works For Me I ordered this snow thrower directly from the manufacturer on February 8 and they delivered it to my door step, free of charge, the next day. It also came right before my region was struck by 2 feet of snow on February 10. First of all, let me say it performed very well for this snow storm as it exceeded my expectations. I woke up on the 10th to about 8-10 inches of snow and the Snow Joe cleared my four car driveway and paths to both my front and back door easily. I subsequently went out 2 additional times during the day and easily cleared another 4-5 inches of snow each time. It seems that this machine will clear up to 10 inches of light to moderate snow fairly well at a time. However, I wouldn’t use it to try and move heavy amounts of slush or ice, or snow that has been compacted and on the ground for several days. My neighbor cleared this type of snow with a heavy duty gas snow blower that he payed $800 for, and I don’t think the Snow Joe, with its many plastic parts, could handle this type of workload. So if you buy this machine with the right expectations and are willing to clear snow several times during a significant snow storm, then the Snow Joe is a great product for the price. Also, I was going to buy the Toro electric snow thrower but the price was jacked up to $400 dollars during this storm, so the Snow Joe really was a bargain for $249.
