I wanted to replace my pair of Crocs Athens last year when I realized that they were not being made anymore. I’m retired and live in Hawaii where we wear sandals every day all day long. I couldn’t find any anywhere. This spring the “Modi Flip” came out and looked similar to the Athens, but different, and hopefully improved. Well they are not. The “thong” that goes between you toes is connected to the strap with glue as opposed to molded. It also is just pushed through the sole; the same as system that causes “blowouts” on the cheapest crocs Modi Flip Flop, not molded like the Athens. I sure hope thy last a year or more like the Athens.
I really like this style. I was sold on the Athens and then Crocs do not have them anymore. I think this style took its place and I like it. Besure and order your correct size in this style where in the Athens, I had to go down a size.
crocs Modi Flip Flop is my first pair of Crocs. I’d heard nothing but good things about Crocs, so I shouldn’t have been surprised when these were so comfortable. They have a shaped footbed that supports your feet. The small, soft nibs on the soles give your toes something to grip. Excellent everyday flips!
