I’ve been using Kindle DX 3G Global (latest version) 1 month and I can read books whenever I like.Generally speaking it like the device except for the language support(I don’t think it really so ‘Global’ cause while Kindle 3 uses unicode and supports certain foreign fonts my Kindle DX 3G still remains in 2.5 version and only English is available. The way to bypass the problem is use the PDF files but that consumes lot of space. The company should feel the urgency to upgrade for the customers for DX is the most expensive model in the Kindle series.Another thing I am unhappy with is the duration of the battery. When fully charged with the 3G turned off, it can only last no more than week(I read 4 hours averagely each day) instead of 2 weeks as the ads asserted. I don’t know other’s experiences, but it is obviously not so satisfactory.

I have been using Kindle DX 3G for a couple of months now, and I love it. Kindle DX 3G makes reading easy, no strain to my eyes, no strain to my hands. I read in bed, I read at home, I read at the office. I read pdf documents mostly at work and ebooks at home. For work and pleasure, it makes reading a pleasure.
I don’t have to worry about charging it either. I tend to forget it runs on batteries sometimes. It lasts about a week with the 3G on or two weeks with the 3G off (which is how it usually is).
It’s very easy to get books from Amazon with the 3G and equally easy to copy them from my PC. I use the Calibre ebook management program that makes it a breeze to organize my books and selectively copy the to Kindle DX 3G.
Unfortunatelly, I can only use the browser for wikipedia because it is the only site allowed in Greece, where I live. Another thing I am sorry about is that I had to pay almost as much as I bought it in customs to import it to Greece. To be honest, I wouldnt buy it had I known that the total cost would be about 500. (Hence the four stars).

Great protection – needs one design change This product provides an excellent protection for the Kindle DX global edition. The shell is firm enough to protect against casual blows, and of course the zippered enclosure keeps the dirt and dust out of the keys and off the screen. The zipper can actually be done back up after the case is folded back (allowing papers and notes to be kept safe), but the zipper’s pull tab does not swing around to allow easily doing it back up. It is not going to keep the screen from being broken if the unit is sat upon, but nothing that is readily portable will accomplish that anyway. The corners of the case are tight to use the first time the unit is mounted (I used needle-nose pliers to position the fourth corner the first time, but after that I was able to do it with my fingers), but that is better than risking the unit falling out once these corners have eased up from a bit of use.

The one change I would really like to see done is for there to be an access for the USB cable. Short of taking the unit out of the case, the USB cable can only be plugged in by forcing down the bottom edge of the case and sliding the plug into place. This has to be puttinga bad strain on the small USB plus that is used for both charging the unit’s battery and for uploading books to/from a PC. A small port at the base of the zipper in the middle of the bottom edge of the case would solve this problem, and this has been done on at least one competetive unit.

Overall – I would buy this one again if I had need of another.

Excellent Kindle DX Case I can honestly say that I love my Kindle (Kindle DX) and I have enjoyed reading once again. Kindle does allow you to read with such ease because of the many choices that it extends to you. I recommend it to anyone who has a problem with small print and with clare on your reading material. Best Kindle cover I love this cover because:

Like it but, not sure how long it will stay attached The cover itself is exactly what I wanted. It fits well and can be taken any where without drawing attention to itself. The 2 concerns I have is that while the cover attached easily to the Kindle the plastic attaching “prongs” do not seem like something that will last a long time. And on that same note, the front part lifts open and folds back for easy reading however, in a hurry, I have tried to open the back part of the cover (which can look like the front if you are in a hurry) which is not designed to open. I think if I had not stopped in time I would have quickly broken the attaching prongs which would then need a full cover replacement.

I just now received the cover for my new Kindle DX and am more than pleased. It is perfect from my perspective-does what I want it to do, cover and protect as well as dress up the electronic box, all at a decent price. I can’t figure out the basis for the negative reviews as I find it to be apparently well made, using good materials and very clever in design (as small and unobtrusive as possible). Obviously having just received it I can’t comment on durability but at this stage I see no reason not to have high expectations on that score. I also bought the light for it which seems to be a pretty good idea.
