I’ve been using this gps around the Boston area for about a month, and I think it deserves a solid 4 stars, but some quirks keep it from earning 5 stars.

I was debating between this and the 3790 (which ultimately proved prohibitively expensive). I’m very happy with the large size of the 2460 – the 3790 is nice and slim and pedestrian-style portable but I’ve only used my gps in pedestrian mode once. Having a bigger device in my hand didn’t cause a problem for the short amount of time I was using it.

The Eco-score feature has actually gotten me to drive more efficiently (i.e. more slowly) on the highway and I’ve experienced a real increase in my mpg rating (I used to score about 26mpg, now I’m up around 30). I love the “at the pump” feature, which tracks your mpg ratings when you put in mileage and fuel stats. The ability to customize the home screen is great, too. I’ve added link buttons for “Where Am I” and “At the Pump.”

Bluetooth works great and I am thrilled to be able to use the voice commands to access my address book.

Speaking of voice commands, it’s a great feature that I am happy to have. I would say it’s about 85% accurate. It can’t hear you if you’ve got the radio on (big deal, just turn it down for 5 seconds) and I feel much safer using vocal commands to find my destinations than leaning over the dash to type them in while driving.

Unfortunately, the Garmin keeps disappointing me with the way it routes me around heavy traffic. Most of my driving is on the highway in suburbia and the traffic data is supposedly pulled in over an FM link and in my case is only accurate/updated if you’re within a certain (close) distance of the city of Boston, so usually I find out too late that heavy traffic is ahead.

It also often suggests I get off the highway and back on a mile down the road, which never works out in my favor. I’m thinking I will shut off the traffic avoidance feature altogether. In the Garmin’s defense, when you’re in traffic in the Boston area, there’s no way to avoid it in any meaningful way regardless of what gps you have. A few times I have told it to take me home through local roads, and I’ve enjoyed the slow and easy scenic drives and haven’t worried about getting lost, but they haven’t really saved me any time during my commute.

All in all, I’m very happy to have gotten this device, especially since I got it on sale for $200. I feel good knowing I have lifetime maps and love the voice command features and the large size. Traffic data has been a letdown but that’s my only major complaint.

The Lenovo did OK with streaming movies and it had a sim card slot so you had the ability to get a data plan which the Eee Pad does not have but I don’t use a data plan so that was not important to me. I would recommend this tablet to anyone looking for a reasonably priced tablet to access the web and watch movies. Also the Android Market has a good assortment of apps and movies to chose from.

As with any great revieew there are always a few negatives. The only one I can think of is the bit caddy attached to the battery compartment on the tool. If the multi bit is removed for use, the spring metal retention clip was soon found on the floor. If you are used to the direction control switch on oldrr models as I am, this tool is backward. Right handed users need to depress the control switch toward the thumb for fwd action and depress away for reverse. Be sure to have the spare battery charged during periods of extended use. The Lithium Ion battery packs quit completely when the charge expires. No warning signs or reduced performance. It just flat out stops dead. At first I thought the tool died completly but a fresh pack proved me wrong. A bit storage compartment in the carry case would be nice but my other DeWalt corded drill does not have one so was not expecting one with this tool either. All in all it is the best, most comfortable cordless drill/driver I have used. Amazon supersaver shipping coupled with a great price even beat out the big box stores pricing for the same tool.

Black Friday Black & Decker ASI300 I’ve had my Air Station over a year now and it does a good job. I just needed a quick convenient way to inflate bike, snowblower and car tires, a pool and a bunch of kids toys. I only use it on AC power but the DC power option may come in handy someday. The unit is a little noisy, which I expected. It also runs a little hot, which I did not expect, but the heat has not caused it any apparent harm. The pressure cut-off works well and is a nice feature, as others have noted. And the small size means no problem storing it in an already over-crowded garage. I am satisfied with this purchase.

Received these chairs Wednesday. The box they came in was in perfect condition and when I pulled them out they were all meticulously wrapped to protect them in the shipping process. It was kind of a pain removing all of that wrapping, but I did appreciate the fact that enough care was put into that process to ensure they made it to me unblemished. They look great and they are very comfortable to sit in. My husband commented more than once about how large these chairs are. They could easily accommodate a very large person comfortably, so for he and I it will be more like sitting on a throne. I like the way they ‘rock’ as well.
